A Versatile Mask Configurable Power Array

چکیده

A new approach highly suitable to implement cost effective semicustom Smart Power ICs and intelligent discrete high power devices is presented. A versatile mask configurable power array is proposed to become a high volume standard product. Design strategies are discussed. An overview on integration strategies and layout considerations, using a standard, low cost, CMOS technology, with no extra processing steps are also presented. This approach allows the fast prototyping of a wide range of applications. A half-bridge implementation is presented. A voltage regulator for portable telecommunications is implemented as an example of this new methodology.
